Sunshine and Poppies

With all the rain we've had, and now two days of sunshine, the wildflowers are blooming everywhere.  Today on our walk Maggie and I encountered some wild poppies growing amongst the weeds.   Rog says wildflowers are weeds but I disagree. These little beauties brought a smile to my face this morning, for sure.  The birds were singing and the ducks were swimming in couples.  It was a beautiful day.  The puddles are drying out and we don't leave deep footprints in the dirt.

We went to the base for fuel and and to stock up on food yesterday.  Today we ran all over town doing last minute stuff before leaving - getting dog food (because I forgot it yesterday), giving back the key for the stupid mail box at the UPS store, returning DVDs to the library, and stocking up on pumpkin cookies from Sprouts!  Busy day.

It's quiet this evening.  Roger is trying to finish his puzzle before he has to put it away. He's busy at it now and spent all evening at it yesterday.  The TV probably won't get turned on at all again tonight.

Maggie and I said good bye to our Colorado friend who always has a treat for her as we go by their site.  They leave tomorrow. They are doing as we are - going to wander home through Arizona for a few weeks before heading north.   We hope to connect with them when we stop in Colorado Springs on our way home from P'Cola in the summer, but if we don't, we will see them here next November.

Our Michigan friends are leaving next week as well - they are going home to Michigan by way of Pensacola and Gulf Shores, AL before they head north.  I think this month will see a lot of folks heading towards home.

Tomorrow will probably be laundry and starting to put things in cupboards for the road trip.  Rog wants a quiet day before he has to start doing all his outside prep.
