A Quiet Mother's Day

Since we spent all day yesterday with the kids and they needed a day off from us to do chores, Rog and I were on our own today. I did hear from my children and my granddaughter with Mother's Day wishes, though!   It was quiet and relaxing and Rog took me out for an ice cream cone at our favorite place just outside the base!  We spent most of the day outside -  walking the dog once in a while, reading, watching some cardinals drinking water from a leaky spigot next door, and just generally being lazy!  It was about 80 degrees but the humidity was lower than it has been and there was a nice breeze off the water, so it was quite comfy in the shade.

Since there's no news - I'll post pictures of Maggie from over the last few days.  Squirrels abound here and she is totally fascinated by them.  This afternoon she was in my lap and one came near us and her whole body just quivered until the squirrel went away. She didn't even try to go after it.  She will sit in her pen with her head pointed upward watching them in the tree.  They keep her entertained and she keeps us entertained!

This morning when I was putting on my walking shoes, Maggie was watching a video of Lassie - at least that's what it looked like to Roger when he snapped this of Maggie waiting for me.

We encountered a small terrapin on the walk and she did not know what to think of it.  Kept trying to get close and when it would start to stick it's head out and she would jump back.  Not very brave. It was quite funny!

Company tomorrow and a busy week coming up.
