After three days of being inside because of gale force winds, today was wonderfully calm and warm. Maggie and I were back to our walk routine this morning and it felt very good to get out and move about.
We spent most of the day sitting outside in the sun and visiting with the neighbors who came over to tell us what a great job we did with the landscaping. It made us feel good. Now two of our neighbors are raring to go to get their lots finished up. One lady across the street took photos of the plants to take with her to a nursery! Our projects are done for the year, but Roger is already talking about a few things we might do next year!
We enjoyed the sun, warm temps, and no wind today because now the forecast forecast for the next three days is very cold nights and only 50 degrees during the day. Roger will probably sit outside with his hooded sweatshirt and plug into his audible book in the sunshine when he isn't in the shop, but I'll be inside after my walk. He's not working on any projects right now but is anxious to start a new one. He can now watch woodworking youtube videos to his heart's content to get some ideas. I'm teaching myself a new crochet stitch - what I'll make is anyone's guess.
Oh, it was so nice last night to have Netflix back! Rog got the Roku hooked up and we watched "Longmire." We had to go back to last season and watch the last episode to refresh our memories and then we watched the first episode of this season. We have so much catching up to do on that series and several others. There will be no more sitting here in the evenings flipping through the over-the-air channels looking for something that might entertain us. At two hours a night, we have plenty of things to watch.
Up until a week or so ago we hadn't seen any ground squirrels. Last March there were hundreds. Maggie has been able to be off leash and she has been good about staying in her yard. They are back and taunting her. She sits on the back of the couch looking out the window and they sit on the berm behind us and she just gets her little shorts in a knot. We can't open the door without hooking her up to the leash, nor can we unhook her until we get back inside or she takes off like a predator after prey! She did find one hole that she dug out enough to get her body half way into before I dragged her away. Sadly (for her and for us), her days of freedom are over.
It feels good to get back to the blog. During the three week hiatus we didn't have much going on anyway. Now we are back; to rambling on about not much!! Stay tuned.
