Colors seemed so vibrant today

We had a little rain last night and it seemed to clear the air.   So much so, that we could see all the way across the Las Vegas valley.  It was so clear - no smog, no haze, no dust blowing.  It was just awesome.  I don't ever remember seeing it like it was this morning.  It made a happy start to the day.

We stopped along the road at a pull out
at the junction to Scotty's castle in Death
Valley.  This was our view from the RV.

During the morning hours we continued to have the same wonderful clear air. The colors in the mountains seemed vibrant and you can see for yourself that there was no haze.  So, beautiful today.

These two were shots from the moving vehicle of eastern side of the road:

Unfortunately these don't do the colors of the mountains justice but hopefully you can see what I am talking about.

Then about two hours later this is what we were looking at.

We thought we were headed into this storm cell, but the road veered off to the left of it and we skirted it for a very long time.

In the middle of the storm clouds a ray of sunshine hit the top of this mountain and the snow just dazzled.

We stopped in Hawthorne, NV around 3:00, got unhooked and set up and then the rain came.  It didn't last long but we were feeling as if our timing was right on today!   We left Las Vegas early - around 8:30 again - and had little to no traffic leaving there heading north.  Once we got on the two lane road, it seemed like more, but it wasn't anything like we expected or had yesterday.  All in all, just a long drive and no adventures, thank goodness.

Even Maggie had a more relaxing day.

Right now she is recuperating from the drive.

Tomorrow we go home.  We will pull into the Sparks Marina RV Park to unload and schlep all our stuff over to the house.

Wednesday we put the RV in storage until the next time!
