Roger's doing dinner dishes while I'm doing the journal entry today. Actually, he does the dishes nine out of ten times! That's OK by me, for sure. This morning, though, we had breakfast and I did the dishes while Roger took Maggs out and I put soup ingredients together for the crockpot. I had lots of water. No probs.
When I finished, I went in to take my shower and had no water. Rog was back by then and went out to check our lines and discovered that the maintenance crew was working on a water line two sites away and had turned off the water for about an hour. About that time I looked outside to see the fire hydrant directly across from us gushing water across the street. They had opened it to relieve the pressure on the repair they had made. They hadn't expected what they got. The pressure of the water put a big crater in the front of our site and sent gravel and water up onto our cement pad, under the RV, and back behind us for a long ways. What a mess. I didn't get a picture of the hydrant in action but only of the aftermath. Once they got it shut off, we had gravel everywhere. It truly looked like a cement truck had dumped its load.
We got his glasses mailed off today. Hopefully, Christina who is our favorite assistant at the doc's office, will pick out a suitable frame for Roger as a replacement. It will be fun to see what she comes up with.
Can't wait til tomorrow to see what our next adventure will be.
Okay so I'm reading backwards. I read the ones after this first sometimes a little bassackwords!
